Active Assisted Stretching

ACTIVE ASSISTED STRETCHING is a very specific and advanced form of stretching that lengthens and releases deep, myofascial connective tissue. Beyond typical stretching methods, Active Assisted Stretching targets individual muscles in a progressive and systematic format. This type of stretching is proactive, which means you actively do the stretch, only to be assisted by yourself or practitioner.

Unlike traditional stretching which is held for a much longer duration and performed aggressively which, leads to injury and soreness. AAS is performed (using a rope or strap for assistance if done by yourself) through your range of motion, held for 2 seconds and doing 5-10 repetitions of 2 sets each. Your practitioner will also teach you to do the stretches in order for you to continue self care.
